We take pallets and scraps and make something beautiful!

About Us

At Southern Repurpose, we believe in transforming pallets and other pieces of scrap wood into something beautiful. We find inspiration from all over, whether it is on a TV show or just flipping through the internet.

We do have pieces made from store-bought materials, but we primarily focus on repurposing scrap materials.

Our Story

Our Roots

Our story begins when we were both kids. Niki’s dad used to build wooden boats for people in the local area, and my grandfather used to do small wooden projects that my grandmother would then decorate. I also did some construction work, and Niki is no stranger to that either. We have been around or done so many aspects of woodworking that it started to feel natural.

How it Started

During a conversation one day, I mentioned the birdhouses and outhouse toilet paper holders that my grandpa made back then, and how I would like to make some birdhouses for the property. The original ones that I made in 2024 had license plates as the roof, just like my grandparents made. Niki got an idea for planter boxes to use on the porch, and that’s when it really all started.

Seeds Planted

Over the next few months, we bought a saw, gathered some pallets, and started tinkering away. The first build was tables for the greenhouse and some planter boxes. The first two planter boxes are still on our porch, the next two were given away to family, and the last two for our porch were done. Not sure who said it first, but it was mentioned that we could/should sell these at the Farmer’s Market.

From that planted seed, discussions grew over the months about “if” we started a business, what would we sell, etc. We tossed around many ideas, even discussing a food truck (decided that was a hard no), and settled on the woodworking aspect with arts and crafts projects tossed in.
